7 Chakra Rainbow Mala

There are a few important things to know about your new mala -

Beads: Each mala is created from 108 beads in the traditional style. The beads used to create each mala are mostly from semi-precious stones, with a few exceptions. Your mala will come with a list of each stone type, and the properties thought to accompany it. All beads are ethically sourced and are generally NOT enhanced/treated. If a particular mala has treated stones, this will be made clear in the description. Some stones are enhanced by heating, which deepens the color and may make the overall design of  the mala that much prettier! 

Thread: The thread used on your mala may be a metallic thread, a satin embroidery thread, or possibly other types. Silk is rarely used because it breaks easily and does not wear well. Each mala is hand-knotted between each bead in the traditional style. 

Guru beads and/or Tassles: You can decide whether you want a tassle and indicate that on your order. Generally the tassle is made out of the same thread that was used for the entire mala. Guru beads are also an important part of the mala, and on some malas there are options to determine which guru bead you desire. Often, people want just the guru bead (or pendant) without the tassle, which is just fine - make sure you indicate this on your order. 

Mala Care: Do not put your mala in the washing machine! If anything is spilled on it, run it under mildly warm water, and a mild soap can be used as well. Some beads will become a bit less shiny if the mala is kept where it rubs frequently on other hard materials, so it is recommended to store the mala in the soft bag that it comes in, or hang it where it does not come into frequent contact with other jewelry.
